Emergency Medical Technician

Whether it’s breaking news or on a TV drama, you’ll see them – emergency medical services personnel rescuing the victims of an accident or caring for a patient with a medical emergency.  In the field of emergency medical services, there are different levels of certification for providers.  Emergency Medical Technician (EMTs) is one of the most common types of provider in EMS.

EMTs are well-versed in basic emergency care skills with the ability to assess a patient’s condition and take action to treat and stabilize the patient so they can be transported to a hospital.

TCD's Emergency Medical Technician program includes emergency medical training and healthcare provider CPR as well as teaching the skills and knowledge needed to pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam after completion of the program.  In order to take the NREMT exam you must meet the necessary age (18) and industry requirements.
