What Will My Classes Be Like?

Turn your curiosity into real-world skills! In this course, you’ll gain the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience needed to thrive in today’s fast-paced tech industry. Instead of just learning how to use specific tools, you’ll focus on mastering the core principles of programming—logic, problem-solving, and creativity—that will make you adaptable to any technology or platform.

Through a mix of theory and practice, you’ll explore general programming techniques and apply them to exciting projects like building games, designing websites, and creating software. By the end of the course, you’ll not only have a portfolio of projects to showcase but also the confidence to tackle new challenges in the ever-evolving world of tech.

This curriculum is designed to make you a versatile and independent learner, equipping you with skills that will last a lifetime. Whether you’re aiming for an entry-level programming position, preparing for college-level coursework, or simply exploring your passion for technology, this course will set you up for success.

Program Selection Guidelines

We want to make sure you’re set up for success in this program! While no prior programming experience is required, here are some recommendations to help you feel confident and ready to dive in:

  • Math Skills: If you’re currently enrolled in or have completed Algebra 2, Geometry, or Trigonometry, you’ll have the math foundation needed to excel in this course. Don’t worry—you won’t be doing advanced math every day, but these skills will help you understand key programming concepts.
  • Computer Skills: You should feel at ease using computers and navigating basic tasks. Familiarity with how files and folders (directories) work is a plus, but we’ll guide you through anything new.

The most important thing is your curiosity and willingness to learn! Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or just starting to explore computer science, this program is designed to meet you where you are and help you grow.
