Sweep at State HOSA

For a second year in a row; a TCD EMT team placed first at Illinois HOSA -- then two more TCD teams made it a sweep!

The Technology Center of DuPage chapter of HOSA--Future Health Professionals enjoyed a successful experience at the 2017 HOSA State Leadership Conference on March 1-3 in Decatur, IL. Eight students from TCD’s EMT and Nursing Assistant Training programs participated in the conference and qualified through written examination to compete in several contests. Three 2-person teams from TCD swept the 1-2-3 spots in the EMT contest division (see below) while Nursing Assistant Training student Jonathan Maghirang from Downers Grove South placed third in Home Health Aide. Delaney Wozniak of Glenbard East placed among the top ten in that same division. A fantastic experience for these skilled students!

The top teams from each contest division are eligible to compete at the HOSA National Leadership Conference, which takes place June 21-24 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Many thanks to TCD instructors to HOSA club sponsor, instructor Ruth Ann Henson, and EMT instructor Greg Leston for running practices and accompanying the students to the conference. The HOSA organization provides a positive instructional, leadership, and competitive context for high school students enrolled in health science programs.
